Our Last POI!
Hello from SGA!
We hope you are all enjoying the start of the new year and a new semester! Things are busy as usual in SGA and we are excited to share some new communication updates with you all. Over the past semester we have been hard at work evaluating what does and doesn’t work in terms of reaching you all and we have found the POI to not be conducive to getting information out in a timely and organized manner. The POI was originally designed when SGA was mainly comprised of Senate. However, over the past decade, SGA has greatly expanded and so our communication methods also needed a refresh.
This past semester our VP for External Affairs, Olivia Oestreicher, started a monthly external newsletter for all undergraduate students at Northeastern! This email includes far more information than the POI and is able to reach NU students without ending in spam folders like Mailchimp campaigns do. Thus, we have decided to pivot our communication methods. See below for our future communication plan and ways to stay updated!
OUR FUTURE COMMUNICATION PLAN:
External Communication
The SGA monthly newsletter is emailed to every undergrad student via listserv. This encapsulates all updates, events, and announcements from SGA.
Our newly revamped website is continuously updated with all our news! You can access it here.
Our instagram is another great way to stay updated on our programming and events. Stay updated at @northeasternsga.
This will be the final email communication sent via Mailchimp mailing list.
Internal Communication
SGA has completely migrated to Slack for our internal communication. Senate updates will be sent via the Senate channel.
We also have an internal newsletter for our members. If you are a member and not receiving these emails please fill out this form here.
Alumni Communication
If you are an alumni and you are interested in staying updated on SGA news please join our alumni newsletter here. We are looking forward to keeping up to date with all things SGA
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive semester and hope you will join us! If you have any questions about our new communication strategies or any other matters please don’t hesitate to reach out to EVP Donoghue at sgaevp@northeastern.edu.
