About BIG

The Boston Intercollegiate Government (BIG) is a student governance organization for colleges and universities in the Greater Boston Area (GBA). Recognized in 2003 by the Boston City Council as an effective means of advocacy for GBA students, BIG now represents over 130,000 undergraduates and continues to expand its footprint through civic engagement events and advocacy initiatives on local, state, and federal levels. InterNAL AFFAIRS Committee

  • Description: The Internal Affairs Committee maintains BIG's internal engagement and membership, media channels, partnerships, and organizational procedures.

    • Current projects: BIG Bonding, BIG x Member Institution SGA Takeovers

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

  • Description:  The Academic Affairs Committee addresses intercollegiate concerns about college relations, curriculum, administrative offices, classroom resources, career services, student opportunities, and other academic topics.

    • Current projects: Election Day Holiday, Career Connection Fair, Course Syllabi Access, LinkedIn Guide, Wellness Resources in the Classroom

sTUDENT aFFAIRS

  • Description:  The Student Affairs Committee addresses intercollegiate concerns about housing, dining, health services, public safety, campus recreation, spiritual life, and other non-academic aspects of student life.

    • Current projects: Wellness Days, Info Sheet on SA Climate Surveys, Resolution Regarding Hunger-Free Campus Grant Program

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

  • Description: The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee addresses student concerns in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusion while providing resources and opportunities.
