Student Involvement
About the Division
The Student Involvement division represents the consensus of the Northeastern student organization community, and serves as the Student Government Association’s official liaison to student organizations. This includes official recognition, constitutions, building collaborations, and various support services for student organizations.

Student Involvement Board Meeting time: Tuesdays 6pm-9pm
The Board works in consultation with the Center for Student Involvement to approve changes in student organization constitutions, grant final recognition to new student organizations, foster communication and collaboration among student organizations and serve as a student-to-student organizational resource. The Board also performs student organization office space allocations and provides oversight of the Finance Board regarding student organization budget allocations.
The Board is governed by the Student Involvement Board Manual as well as the Student Organization Approval and Revision Manual, both of which are approved first by the Student Involvement Board and then by the Senate.

The Student Organization Operations Committee (SOOC) is an open-membership forum through which students can advocate for support services and resources most needed by clubs. SOOC also works to help student leaders understand and access existing resources and build connections across the Northeastern global network of campuses.

The Student Organization Approvals Board (SOAB) oversees the new organization recognition and approval process. SOAB members serve as liaisons to student leaders navigating the new club process, provide feedback to new student orgs on their constitutions and organizational plans, and vote on advancing clubs through the recognition process.

The Student Organization Governance (SOG) Board is responsible for developing and communicate clear policies for student organizations by conducting surveys, analyzing niche policy circumstances, and proposing new legislation to SGA Senate. The SOG Board also manages club governing documents (constitutions & bylaws) and constitution approvals.
student organizATION COMPLIANCE BOARD
The Student Organization Compliance (SOC) Board works to foster a culture of student organizations and their leadership understanding and complying with policies by conducting investigations and administering sanctions as-needed. The SOC Board maintains a simple and transparent student organization investigation framework to fairly evaluate organization compliance and help organizations get back on track.
