Executive Cabinet

The Executive Cabinet are the senior officers of SGA made up of the President, Executive Vice President, Divisional Vice Presidents, and Executive Directors.

 

Matthew Coughlin, Student Body President

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Matt was a fourth-year mechanical engineering major with a minor in math from Sharon, Massachusetts.

His main goals for the upcoming school year were expanding collaboration with administrators and the student body, the globalization of student advocacy and student government, as well as enhancing SGA-wide efficiency.

Outside of SGA, Matt could be found skiing, hiking, or at the club AeroNU.

In his role as Student Body President, he was responsible for chairing the Executive Cabinet and acting as a liaison between SGA and the Student Body. He could be reached at sgaPresident@northeastern.edu!

Cassidy Donogue, Executive Vice President

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Cassidy was a third-year political science major with minors in both rhetoric and psychology from Long Island, New York.

Her primary goals for the next year were developing SGA's internal communication pathways, implementing project tracking across SGA to make its work more transparent and easy to get involved with, as well as continuing to foster SGA's connections across the student groups and Northeastern's administration.

Outside of SGA, Cassidy was involved in the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity, and NUDANCO.

As Executive Vice President, she facilitated collaboration between the main divisions of SGA as well as supporting the Association with long-term planning, new initiatives, outreach, and advocacy. She could be reached at sgaEVP@northeastern.edu!

Jamira Collins, Speaker of the Senate

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Jamira was a third-year psychology major with a minor in africana studies from Baltimore, Maryland.

Her aim for the next year was to explore Boston, bring more mental health programming to campus, and to graduate.

Outside of SGA, Jamira was involved in various organizations including Northeastern's Caribbean Students' Org (CSO), National Society of Leadership Success, National Society of Black Women in Medicine, Big Sister Boston, and B.E.S.T. You Programming (Coming Soon).

As Speaker of the Senate, she was responsible for chairing Senate, overseeing Senate operations, Senator education, recruitment, and managing proactive Senate-facing initiatives. Distinguishing Senate as its own division was aimed to increase Senate engagement, retention, and productivity while fulfilling the goal of representing all student voices in SGA's voting body! Valentina Haro, VP for Operational Affairs

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Valentina was a third-year business administration major with a concentration in finance & accounting from Enola, Pennsylvania.

Her aims for the next year were to modernize the SGA website, improve internal communications, and establish a clearer structure within the Operational Affairs division.

Outside of SGA, Valentina was involved in Beta Alpha Psi and was also a TA for Accounting.

As VP for Operational Affairs, she oversaw internal association operations and worked to support both senate and SGA leadership in their logistical success. Her responsibilities included managing association finances, maintaining the roster, coordinating room bookings, updating governing docs, and overseeing senator applications and audits. Devyani Anand, VP for Academic Affairs

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Devyani was a third-year cell and molecular biology major from New York City, New York.

Her goals for the upcoming school year included more transparency in academic programs abroad, collaboration within all colleges and programs, and more involvement within senate.

Devyani had previously served as a Senator and as a Faculty Senate Representative.

Julian Herzing-Burkard, VP for Campus Affairs

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Julian was a third-year international business major with a concentration in social innovation as well as a minor in environmental studies from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

His aims for the next year were connecting with other relevant student orgs on initiatives, continuing to create change through prioritizing actionable projects and communicating current initiatives to the student body.

Outside of SGA, Julian was a member of the Husky Environmental Action Team (HEAT) and a proud intramural soccer team manager. He was confident he would get them to the top of the league next season.

As VP for Campus Affairs, he worked with Northeastern administrators across various departments to advocate on behalf of the student body on issues related to student resources. He could be reached at sgaCampusAffairs@northeastern.edu!

Misha Ankudovych, VP for Student Success

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Misha was a third-year data science and economics major from Amityville, New York.

His goals for the next school year included connecting with more students through events, strengthening collaboration for global students, as well as creating more initiatives relating to physical health.

Outside of SGA, Misha was a leader of the NUDoghouse Hockey Student Section, and had gone to almost every Huskies hockey game in the state of Massachusetts (and some even further!). He was also a Husky Ambassador tour guide and a volunteer suicide hotline counselor.

As VP for Student Success, he was responsible for advocating student concerns regarding campus engagement and student wellbeing by working on projects related to mental and physical wellness, social integration, athletics, the arts, campus culture, school spirit, and more! Olivia Oestreicher, VP for External Affairs

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Olivia was a fourth-year political science and communication studies major from Shirley, Massachusetts.

Her goals for the upcoming year were professionalizing media/communications, creating fun & engaging events, and humanizing SGA.

Outside of SGA, Olivia was a member of Tri Sigma Sorority, NU Choral Society, Pi Sigma Alpha, PRSSA, as well as a Presidential Ambassador and CSSH Ambassador.

As VP for External Affairs, she dealt with all aspects of external outreach for the Student Government Association, specifically in bridging the gap between the student body and student government. She could be reached at sgaExternalAffairs@northeastern.edu.

Christly Bright-Agindotan, VP for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Christly was a fourth-year business administration major with minors in both law and public policy & human services. She was originally from Maryland.

Her goals for the next year were to institutionalize an internal DEI checklist, promote data driven diversification of SGA, and increase availability of DEI resources for student organizations.

Outside of SGA, Christly was the President of Sisters in Solidarity as well as the Director of Internal Affairs of the Black Pre-Law Association.

As VP for DEI, she worked on making Northeastern a more welcoming and inclusive place for all students, uplifting student concerns and ideas, and collaborating with the cultural resource centers on campus. She could be reached at sgaDEI@northeastern.edu!

DYlan Lee, Vice President for Student Involvement

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Dylan was a third-year data science and economics major from San Francisco, California.

His goals for the upcoming year were to create a sustainable clubs council to help clubs find solutions to their problems, bring ALL student organization constitutions in compliance with SGA policy, and to work with the Finance Board to help foster a better understanding of fiscal policies in new student organizations.

Dylan's past positions included being a Senator and the Director of Student Organization Governance.

As the VP for Student Involvement, he worked closely with the Center for Student Involvement and many other Northeastern administrators to support the 400+ student organizations with official recognition, resources, governance, and conflict resolution. Alex Leblang, Executive Director of Club Finance

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Alex was a fourth-year business major. He was originally from San Francisco, California.

He looked forward to working on more organization outreach as well as developing more standard procedures internally with the board.

Alex's past experience in SGA included being a member of the Finance Board and a Senator.

Kate Mittelhauser, Executive Director of Elections

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Kate was a third-year political science and international affairs major with minors in both Spanish and environmental studies from San Jose, California.

Her goals for the upcoming year were to run a respectful, smooth SGA direct election and to work with other branches of SGA to improve Senate and the global SGA dynamic.

Outside of SGA, Kate was involved with NU|ACES and, through them, volunteered at the National Braille Press.

As the Executive Director of Elections, she oversaw the student body election and referenda and ensured that the Direct Elections Manual was followed throughout the process. Gabrielle Starling, Parliamentarian

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Gabrielle was a fourth-year criminal justice & political science major from Westwood, Massachusetts.

Her goals for the next year included developing a centralized OAB manual to bring more structure to decision-making and clarify procedure for appeals as well as OAB's role & actions, enhancing OAB's transparency through improved external recruitment and facilitation of relevant discussions, as well as working with the Speaker to increase the Senate's knowledge of and comfort with using Robert's Rules of Order.

Gabrielle's past experience in SGA included being an Operational Appeals Board Justice.
