The Executive divisions focus on both advocacy for the student body and administrative efforts to keep both Student Organizations running and SGA itself running properly.

  • SGA Committees meet weekly to focus on specific aspects of the student experience, working on projects that directly improve the university. These committees are open to all undergraduate students on the Boston campus. No prior experience or long-term commitment is required.

    To join a committee, simply show up! You can find more information about each committee’s focus and meeting times at the links below.

  • SGA Boards meet as determined by the chair and generally allocate money or make judicial decisions. Subsequently, they have closed meetings with a specific number of members, as confirmed by the SGA Cabinet, through an application process.

The academic affairs committee focuses on all projects within the division. Our goal is to collaborate with all colleges as well as other SGA committees to work on university wide initiatives.

In collaboration with the chancellor's office, students will be chosen to work with higher administration on voicing student concerns and ideas for our CO-OP program!

  • Advisory Boards serve as the official representative of student interests as they relate to their mission and act as a liaison between the Northeastern student body and relevant Northeastern administration.

  • Collaborating with group members on projects and innovating ideas to improve their area of work.

The College Liaisons Board is composed of one student from each undergraduate-serving academic college at Northeastern University (e.g., the College of Social Sciences & Humanities, the College of Science, etc.). Each Liaison regularly meets with the Dean of their respective academic college to advocate for solutions to student issues and give feedback to the Dean regarding future decisions affecting undergraduate students.

The Global Experience Committee focuses on advocating for student voices within the university's global network and works to address and improve the overall student experience across Northeastern's undergraduate global programs. Their objectives include enhancing student involvement, campus services, academics, and overall student success in all undergraduate global programs, collaborating with administrators and the student governments on the global campuses to bring positive change. The Global Experience Committee is open to all undergraduate students with no prior experience and no commitment necessary. If you are interested, just show up!

The Wellness Committee advocates for student well-being by working on mental and physical wellness projects. It is open to all undergraduate students, and no prior experience or commitment is necessary. If you are interested, just show up!

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Advocacy and Administrative Focused Division

The Student Engagement Committee advocates for campus engagement by working on projects related to social integration, school spirit, athletics, the arts, and campus culture. The Student Engagement Committee is open to all undergraduate students with no prior experience and no commitment necessary. If you are interested, just show up!

The DEI Committee strives to foster a more inclusive and equitable campus experience by addressing systemic DEI issues that affect the entire Northeastern community. Open to all students, the committee serves as a platform for advocacy, collaboration, and action, bridging the efforts of diverse cultural, spiritual, and identity-based groups to promote collective impact. By amplifying underrepresented voices, influencing policy, and supporting cross-community initiatives, we aim to create a campus environment where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to thrive. It would remain open to any student interested in contributing to DEI efforts, ensuring broad representation and participation from diverse groups.

The GEO Working Group consists of appointed students representing a wide range of academic colleges, global experiences & backgrounds and relevant administrators in the Global Experience Office to give direct feedback and offer solutions to issues related to Northeastern’s First Year Global Programs (Global Scholars, London Scholars, N.U.in), Global Network Campus Programs (Semester In, Summer In), and Study Abroad & Faculty-Led Programs (Dialogue of Civilizations, Traditional Study Abroad, Global Co-op). This working group consists of a closed number of students appointed by SGA & GEO because of their unique perspective.

The AI Advisory Board defines how Northeastern innovates and leads in the age of artificial intelligence by working directly with university leaders to imagine, test, and build the future of college and AI. The board is composed of students from all colleges with varied perspectives and opinions on Artificial Intelligence.

The Holistic Wellness Working Group is a select group of students representing a diverse range of academic colleges, global experiences, and backgrounds, alongside key administrators from Northeastern’s University Health & Counseling Services (UHCS). This group serves as a crucial bridge between the student body and UHCS, fostering dialogue on campus health and wellness. Its mission is to enhance the quality, awareness, and accessibility of mental and physical health services at Northeastern by amplifying a wide array of student perspectives. This working group consists of a closed number of students appointed by SGA & UHCS because of their unique perspective.
